Cyrus Mayo

Cyrus Mayo has worn hearing aids for the past ten years. With his last In-The-Ear hearing aids, he had problems with them fitting properly in his ears. He disliked how his hearing aids whistled when he listened on the telephone. He also strained to hear conversations when there was a lot of background noise.

Then Cyrus tried wearing Yuu™ hearing instruments. He noticed that he could hear in noisy environments much better. At church, he could hear the minister and what others were saying around him. Watching television became a more enjoyable experience, as he could more easily discriminate consonants and hear dialog more clearly.

Cyrus especially appreciated Yuu’s Comfort-Clarity Balance. When watching movies, he would "adjust the control to what [he] was listening to". When listening to speech, he moved the control towards "Clarity". Since he could then hear speech clearly, he could set the television volume lower so he "didn’t disturb the whole household anymore."

Unlike his other hearing aids, Cyrus could hear conversations without straining. He could also listen on the telephone without experiencing feedback.

"I used to have to take my hearing aids out when talking on the telephone," he explains.

An avid golfer, Cyrus also wore his Yuu hearing instruments out on the golf course. Usually bothered by wind noise, Cyrus found that the wind was not a problem with his Yuu hearing aids, and he could enjoy being outdoors.

Cyrus liked the automatic program since it covered most of his listening needs. He used this default program when listening on the telephone, at home with his wife and children, and when driving in the car.

"The Yuu hearing aids tune out road noise, and I can hear music on the radio and when someone is speaking in the car. I could not do this very well with my previous hearing aids."

Cyrus found his Yuu hearing instruments comfortable to wear, and he liked that the sound of his own voice was more natural and clear sounding.

"Most of the time, I am not even aware of wearing them," he says.

Cyrus rarely had to make adjustments to his Yuu hearing instruments. He liked the convenience of Yuu’s remote Smart Control when he was at home, but since his hearing instruments did not require many adjustments, he found he was able to just put on the hearing aids and go about his daily routine.

Cyrus recommends Yuu hearing instruments to others that may have a hearing loss.

"I wore the [Yuu] hearing aids in a variety of situations from listening on the telephone to church and in noisy environments. The automatic program meant I rarely had to make adjustments. I could hear my daughters from across the room and listen to the television at a regular volume. All of these things meant I could just enjoy what I usually do without straining to hear sounds and conversations."
